Scoot’s Review:
Janie is terrified of anyone around her who might be sleeping. Why? Because she can’t help but be pulled into their dreams – no matter where she might be or what she was doing at the time. Living a life on the sidelines of everyone’s dreams is a nightmare for Janie and she isn’t sure what to do. No one knows about her ability and she doesn’t have the support at home to get help. When an old acquaintance returns to town Janie thinks she has found someone to trust, but that trust is put to the test and Janie’s life is in turmoil – awake and asleep. Wake looks all innocent with that little purple pillow on the cover, but in truth I found this novel to be a dark and gritty. It isn’t all that long, but is filled lot of deep thoughts and sad situations. It was different than I expected, but still a good read. Not for the faint of heart – and definitely not a happy book. I generally liked Janie and her resilience to rise above her situation in life, and Cabel was the perfect boy who really needed to be saved. Overall a fast read that kept me going to find out what happened, but I had to read a happy book afterwards to lift the mood back up.
YA Content Warnings: The dreams Janie gets pulled into are pretty strange and although not ‘real’ touch often on sexual or dark topics. There is also crude language and underage drinking. Honestly on my comfort level I would not recommend this book to anyone but adults.

I actually really liked this series.
I really like when the book is about psychics or people who have some sort of similar ability.
I liked Janie and enjoyed reading her story.
