Scoot's Rating: 9- Great read! Couldn’t put it down.

Synopsis (via Goodreads): Werewolves can be dangerous if you get in their way, but they'll leave you alone if you are careful. They are very good at hiding their natures from the human population, but I'm not human. I know them when I meet them, and they know me, too.

Mercy Thompson's sexy next-door neighbor is a werewolf.

She's tinkering with a VW bus at her mechanic shop that happens to belong to a vampire.

But then, Mercy Thompson is not exactly normal herself ... and her connection to the world of things that go bump in the night is about to get her into a whole lot of trouble.

Scoot’s Review:
It is easy to get wrapped up in Mercedes Thompson’s world. A world where there are Fey, Vampires, Werewolves and more living right alongside the human population. The Fey have ‘come out’ to the public, but Werewolves and Vamps are still flying under the radar. Mercy is a single, independent auto mechanic – who also happens to be able to shift into a coyote when the mood strikes. Having been raised by werewolves she knows just who to turn to when something unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep. Sucked into a world of danger and in a race against time, Mercy and the local paranormals work together to solve a mystery and save lives. If you have not had a chance to read anything from Patricia Briggs – you need to! She is an excellent author. The writing flows smoothly, paced to perfection and filled with enough emotion to keep you enthralled. Characterization is great; you become emotionally connected to the characters in the novel and don’t want to let them go when the pages stop. It feels like each character has enough depth to easily feature in their own novel. The paranormal elements are intriguing and the hints of romance were tastefully done. Moon Called has some rip-your-heart-out moments, but I loved it all the more for them. The first in a series, this story does have a sound conclusion but leaves you open and ready for more! I highly recommend it!
