  Coming Soon...

Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy #2) by Deborah Harkness
To Be Published: July 10th 2012 by Viking Adult

""Together we lifted our feet and stepped into the unknown"—the thrilling sequel to the New York Times bestseller A Discovery of WitchesDeborah Harkness exploded onto the literary scene with her debut novel, A Discovery of Witches, Book One of the magical All Souls Trilogy and an international publishing phenomenon. The novel introduced Diana Bishop, Oxford scholar and reluctant witch, and the handsome geneticist and vampire Matthew Clairmont; together they found themselves at the center of a supernatural battle over an enchanted manuscript known as Ashmole 782.
Now, picking up from A Discovery of Witches’ cliffhanger ending, Shadow of Night plunges Diana and Matthew into Elizabethan London, a world of spies, subterfuge, and a coterie of Matthew’s old friends, the mysterious School of Night that includes Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh. Here, Diana must locate a witch to tutor her in magic, Matthew is forced to confront a past he thought he had put to rest, and the mystery of Ashmole 782 deepens.
Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries, delivering one of the most hotly anticipated novels of the season.

My Ramblings on Shadow of Night: I just recently had the chance to listen to the audiobook of A Discovery of Witches and I really enjoyed it!  I am looking forward to getting my hands on this novel to find out what happens next for Matthew & Diana. If you are interested in a unique, well written adult urban fantasy with a little meat on its bones (first book = almost 600 pages! yay!) you should check out this series!

Let The Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger
To Be Published: March 2013 by Simon Pulse

"Seventeen-year-old Vane Weston is the only survivor of the category five tornado that killed his parents. Every night since the storm, a beautiful, dark-haired girl has swept through his dreams. She's the only clue to his past, and he clings to the hope that she's real.

Audra is real, but she's also a sylph. An air elemental. She walks on the wind, can translate its alluring songs, and can even twist it into a weapon. She's also a guardian--Vane's guardian--and has sworn an oath to protect him at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing her own life.

When a hasty mistake reveals their location to the enemy who murdered both of their families, Audra must help Vane remember who he is. He has a power to claim--the secret language of the West Wind, which only he can understand. But unlocking his heritage will also unlock a memory Audra wishes could be erased. And as the storm bears down on them she starts to realize the greatest danger might not be the warriors coming to destroy them, but the forbidden romance that's grown between them.

Set amongst the desert airstreams of Coachella Valley in California, and alive with wonderful wind-swept prose, LET THE SKY FALL is about two teenagers broken by their pasts, divided by their futures, and bound by love.

My Ramblings on Let The Sky Fall: The first thing that caught my eye on this book was the cover, and then I read the synopsis and I was hooked! I think it sounds like a great read.  Also, Shannon Messenger is a great blogger - so I am sure whatever she writes will be great too! This one I will have to be patient for.  It doesn't come out until NEXT YEAR. Doh.

*** SIDE NOTE:  If you are just stopping by for the WoW post be sure to check out my current giveaway here before you go!
